With more and more swanky mobile devices on the market, being able to watch your videos on the move is increasingly important.
The problem is that in the case of movies, most of them are not in iTunes, iPod or iPhone format when you download or share them. FLV2iTunes is a simple application that can help solve this by converting movies to iTunes, iPod, and iPhone supported formats. Simply drag and drop movie files into it, select a few simple parameters and conversion starts instantly - no hanging around but at the same time, there's only limited possibility to select the frame rate and movie size. You are given two options as regards the movie size though, namely 640 x 480 and 320 x 240.
FLV2iTunes is pretty flexible accepting most major movie formats including WMV, XVID, DIVX, FLV and AVI. As the name suggests, it's also well integrated with iTunes immediately transferring converted files into the iTunes library which is actually a bit annoying if you don't use iTunes as your default media player. However, you can de-select this option before you start conversion which is worth doing if you're constantly receiving an "iTunes 1728" error. Conversions are far from perfect however - you may frequently find that files either don't convert fully or won't open once converted, depending on the original format.
FLV2iTunes, although a bit bug ridden in places, is an extremely simple converter for any novice that wants to take their movies on the move with them.
